Special guest Fatuma Hussein joins us to share about the programs and services offered by the Immigrant Resource Center of Maine (IRCM) and details on the upcoming World Refugee Day celebrations in Lewiston.
World Refugee Day is back in person this year! Celebrations will be held on Monday, June 20th from 4:30-7:30pm in Lewiston's Simard-Payne Memorial Park. Join the IRCM and many other community partners, including Community Concepts, for an evening of international food, music, activities, and dialogues. Maine's CDC Director Nirav Shah will be the night's keynote speaker.
The IRCM's mission is to embody and promote diversity and inclusion in every aspect of the organization's work and it continues to create a more equitable and inclusive Maine for all communities. Programs include housing services, community development, gender-based violence services, Covid-19 and social services supports, and more.
